Cruise ships are also a main cause of pollution. They have many people on them and therefore, those people create lots of waste and sewage, all of which is dumped into the ocean. This kills and harms all sorts of wildlife. Human sewage carries bacteria, pathogens, diseases, viruses, and eggs of parasites. The number of people on a cruise ship has grown by 1000% in the last few years. Each passenger generates up to 10 gallons of sewage and 85 gallons of gray water daily. The total for each day, for all the people on one ship, is 255,000 gallons of gray water and 30,000 gallons of sewage each day, and all of this going into the ocean. Cruise ships are permitted to dump raw sewage three miles away from the shore(which can easily come back to the land).
The oil tanks can often break or leak oil into the ocean which is extremely deadly to both the land and water wildlife.
